How to Install and Verify CLEO 5 for Classic GTA San Andreas
Use this procedure with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC version 1.0 US. CLEO also requires Silent's ASI Loader or an equivalent loader. These instructions do not cover Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, which Rockstar distinguishes from the classic PC version.
As of July 19, 2026, the CLEO download center lists CLEO 5.4.0, released March 16, 2026.
Install CLEO 5
- Download CLEO 5 from the CLEO download center.
- Extract the release archive into the game directory containing the main executable.
- Confirm that Silent's ASI Loader or an equivalent ASI loader is installed.
- Launch the game. A correct installation displays the CLEO version in a corner of the screen.
- To install a script supplied as a .cs file, copy it into the game's CLEO folder.

Troubleshooting
If no CLEO message appears in the menu, confirm that CLEO.asi is in the game root and that an ASI loader is installed. A successful load should create cleo.log in the root directory. If a script crashes, follow any error-message instructions and disable other scripts to isolate possible conflicts.
